Data protection policy

1.1. Scope

This data protection declaration informs users of the unitedmethodist.de website according to the national act on data protection. It addresses the nature, extent and purpose of personal data collection through the website provider, “Evangelisch-methodistische Kirche”.
The EmK takes data protection seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and according to the provisions of legislation.
Please consider that the transmission of data via the internet may be associated with gaps in security. Complete protection from third parties accessing data is not achievable.

1.2 Access data

The EmK and the website providers collect data about the access to the website and stores this data as 'server-logfiles'. The following data is recorded:

  • Visited websites
  • Date and time of access
  • Size of transferred data [byte]
  • Referral source (previous website)
  • Type of browser
  • Type of operating system
  • IP-address

The IP-addresses are anonymized before storage. For this purpose the last three digits are removed, i.e. 127.0.0.1 is converted to 127.0.0.*. IPv6 addresses are also anonymized. The anonymized IP addresses are stored for 60 days. Details concerning the user of the directory protection are anonymised after one day.
The collected data is used for statistical analysis to improve the website. The website provider reserves the right to retrospectively check server log files should there be concrete indications of unlawful usage.
